Waiting on a road, let the time pass by, there’s nothing else but hoping you can hear the soft dialogue of all things in the skyline of the beloved hometown while you’re passing through. In the city, Pingtung, where has the most sunshine, alongside the blue sky. Did you notice that there’s a white building left alone, silently, telling a lovely story?

First frustration:

The client has 4 siblings; their father is nearly a hundred years old. Not only to let the big family have a place to reunite together in Pingtung, but to let the elderly father enjoy his life. The client wanted to build on his own estate and found Goodjoy Architecture. However, the original project was paused for four months due to the bad neighbor. The attitude of Goodjoy Architecture is to take the clients as our family. Therefore, six months later, the client came back to our architect; but this time, they needed to redesign the whole project because the client changed the place.

Classic and simple scenery needs to be remember

 Goodjoy Architecture has a dream that we want to build a building which has never existed that will become the most beautiful scenery on the street and will be remembered over hundreds years. Goodjoy Architecture insists on urban aesthetics, the designers came up with three major design concepts:

1.Simple Philosophy: Taking “Less is more” from Ludwig Mies van der Rohe as an idea, using the simple way with geometric orientation on the appearance of the building, only the front door and irregular windows connect to outside.

2. Architectural Concrete: Adopting the Tadao Ando’s concept, using the pure concrete to build the carefully art.

3.Classic White: Taking Kenya Hara’s idea as a reference, expressing the nature beauty by the color of white.

Second frustration

 The client’s father is a very strict person; in the process of planning the proposal, it was hard for the father to understand it, he often disagreed the proposal, because he thought his son only trust the designer but not him. Moreover, the whole white building seems a bad luck in the Chinese traditional perspective. The father thought the designer was too young to have a good idea or concept of building a house. However, on the other hand, the client fully trusted Goodjoy Architecture and encouraged the designer. With the servant spirit and the original intention, Goodjoy Architecture wanted to build a lovely house for the family.
